Well, this is the first weekend that Hubbie hasn't come home since he started his new job, a situation that will most likely be the norm as he goes into the planting and harvesting seasons. He had to work late yesterday afternoon, and it just wasn't right asking him to drive all the way up here, not getting here until after 9:00 PM. Unfortunately with all the work I have to do around the house in preparation of getting it ready to sell, coupled with a blizzard moving into the area today and working late myself yesterday, I was unable to go to ND to see him.

The situation feels eerily like the year before we got married with him in school and me at my job in a town four hours away.

Luckily this time both us us have good support systems in our area and a cell phone plan, keeping us from feeling totally on our own.

I shall be filling my weekend with lots of packing. Two of my friends took pity on my genetic deficiency - my mother's and sister's interior decorating genes skipped me - and rearranged things around my kitchen, living room, and dining room on Wednesday night, leaving me a huge pile of pictures, knick-knacks, books and what not to sort through and pack. Those rooms look really nice. Now we they just have to go through the upstairs bathroom, master bedroom, den, and family room and the house will be done.

On another good note, I got 7-8 hours of sleep last night!

Well, now that #1 daughter has the job, the next endeavor will be getting her moved down there. Since she will be starting on July 15th and the current roommate of her new roommate won't be moving out until August, the actual responsibility for getting all of her stuff down to the Twin Cities will fall on our shoulders, but that is okay.

We've move this young lady two times a year for the last four years, only this time it will be 5-1/2 hours away and will entail moving almost all of her furniture from her bedroom plus all the stuff that she had in her college apartment.

Hubbie has arranged to "rent" a co-worker's pickup with a hitch for that 1st weekend in August and will be renting one of those ubiquitous U-Haul trailers to help in the move. It may work out because we are scheduled to be in La Crosse, Wisconsin on the 4th for our allergy appointment, and luckily the Cities are on the way.

It will be an action packed weekend.

#1 daughter just called me. She was in the Twin Cities on a 2nd interview for a job with the study abroad program that she went through to study in Denmark last year. She was offered the job and she accepted. *happy dance*

It entails traveling the country recruiting people for the program from various colleges. My daughter loves to travel, having been denied this aspect of her personality because her mother is such a homebody. (Guess that carry-on luggage we bought her will come in handy.) She will be working on an average of 30 hours per week, but she gets full medical and dental, and because she is working through the University System, they will pay tuition for two undergraduate classes or one graduate class besides.

She has already found an apartment with a roommate close to a bus stop and is just waiting for the current other roommate to move out, which should be before August 1st. Her place of employment want her to start July 15 and have told her they will look for a motel with kitchenette close by for her to live in in the meantime.

She is excited and so are we!!
